Salvation Army starts Code Purple shelter in Wilmington for single men and women.

The shelter opens only on nights that are designated Code Purple (forecasted to be 10 degrees or below – either actual temperature or wind chill). On a Code Purple night the shelter will open at 9 pm (people can go to the Friendship House Drop-In Center before that).
